To earn a CDX title, the Dog and Handler must qualify at three different AKC Obedience Trials performing the following exercises:
1) Heel off leash at the Handler’s left side around the ring as several commands are given by the Judge to move forward, turn and stop;
2) Follow hand/verbal commands to sit or stand or lie down at 15 ft and 30 ft away from the Handler;
3) Retrieve a Dumbbell thrown away from the Handler on the flat surface and over a jump and return the Dumbbell to the Handler;
4) return to the Handler from across the ring when called, and midway through this recall, the dog must “lie down” when directed by the Handler;
5) jump over a Broad Jump when directed, and return immediately to a sit position in front of the Handler
